Dwight C. Hansen

April 1, 1926 - July 17, 2012

Dwight C. Hansen, 86, of Janesville died Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at Mercy Hospital & Trauma Center. Dwight was born April 1, 1926 in Suring, WI, the son of Carl and Grace (Zuill) Hansen. He graduted from Whitewater College High School and served in the U. S. Army in the 1940’s. He married Claudia Gifford in Janesville on November 11, 1954. He was employed by the Milwaukee Road as a railroad engineer for many years retiring in 1986. Dwight enjoyed golf, bowling, fishing and watching the Packers and Brewers.
He is survived by his wife, Claudia, son, Carl of Janesville, two sisters, Doris Crandall of Janesville, Elaine (Richard) Hackett of Whitewater, two brothers, Clayton of Minong, Allen (Margaret) of Fort Atkinson, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Beatrice in infancy, Gwendolyn Ramsett, three brothers, Roger, Neil and Andrew, one brother-in-law, Sherman Ramsett, three sisters-in-law, Rae, Marilyn and Suzanne Hansen.
As Dwight requested, no visitation or funeral will be held. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Milton Cemetery with Pastor Jon Benson of Trinity Free Lutheran Church officiating. The family is being assisted by Henke-Clarson Funeral Home. www.henkeclarson.com.
